The Daughters of Triton

2023 | Markers, Adobe CC

My sisters and I absolutely loved Disney’s 2023 live-action The Little Mermaid. We only wished Ariel’s gorgeous mer-sisters had more time to shine; so I created detailed portraits of each stunning queen of the Seven Seas.

Spooky Mermaids

2021 | Markers

This series of magical illustrations was inspired by a Halloween photoshoot for Pose Wigs, where I modeled as a dark elf mermaid.

I especially enjoyed experimenting with the lighting in each drawing and tackling the unique challenge of rendering light with markers.

Melisande

2018 | Watercolor

For a Fairytales and Children’s Literature illustration course, I adapted, illustrated, and self-published the fairytale Melisande by E. Nesbit.

The humorous, lighthearted fairytale Melisande is one of my favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the process of creating a children’s book, and fell in love with watercolor.

The Lord of the Rings

2020 | Markers

I grew up on The Lord of the Rings, and we’ve all seen the fine art paintings of famous scenes. So I wanted to try something different: using only permanent markers, I let bold strokes and bright colors capture the images that came into my head while reading Tolkien’s epic tale.

Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel. ‘But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund’s daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.
— J.R.R. TOLKIEN

I believe Tolkien’s words are worth a thousand pictures.
